Downtown’s newest amenity, the state-of the-art Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion, will make its big debut at Columbus Commons on Thursday, May 24. Join us for a free concert by singer-song writer Michael McDonald (formerly of The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan). Gates open at 6 p.m. for a double header: the Columbus Jazz Orchestra performs at 7 p.m., followed by Michael McDonald at 8 p.m. The evening finishes with a boom under a dazzling fireworks display presented by Pepsi.

Kids take over on Fridays at the Commons. Bring your little ones down for the first Commons for Kids of the season with free carousel rides, inflatables, face painting and balloon animals. The Columbus Metropolitan Library bookmobile will join the fun and host an engaging storytime in the Reading Room at 10:30 a.m.
The Alive Summer Music Tour sponsored by Middle West Spirits kicks off with a free concert at the Commons featuring The Spikedrivers, Nick Tolford & Company, and Lionel the Jailbird. Come on down for live local music, food trucks and more!
Bring the whole family down for the Season Opening Family Funday filled with rides, games and entertainment. Give the carousel a whirl or try out the inflatable bounce house fun. There’s a petting zoo, COSI science spots, a public art wall, the OSU Pep Band, puppet show, a visit from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, a mascot chase, and an evening showing of E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. It’s all Downtown! Fireworks, courtesy Pepsi, will close out the day with a BIG bang.
Come Back to the Garden at the Columbus Commons. Our new Bicentennial Pavilion hosts Shadowbox Live’s original musical documentary about the Woodstock Festival, Back to the Garden. The immersive show is the troupe’s most popular musical to date. While the performance officially starts at 8pm, come early at 4pm and get into the spirit in our Columbus Commons gardens.
