Free Fitness Classes - 2 Sessions May 2 through October 1

No contracts, no excuses! Among the park perks at Columbus Commons are free fitness classes.  Sponsored by United Healthcare and instructed by Ohio Fit Club, you’ll find seven classes every week. They represent the entire A-to-Z spectrum of exercise; that runs from Aerobics (Cardio Classes) to Zumba! Two sessions will be offered, so mark your calendars to enjoy a unique open-air experience.

Session 1: Monday, May 2– Saturday, June 11 (No class on May 30)
Session 2: Monday, Aug. 1 – Saturday, Oct. 1 (No class on Aug. 27, Sept. 5 or Sept. 14)

Waiver and Release

All participants are required to fill out an online waiver and release in order take part in Columbus Commons Fitness classes. Once you fill out the online waiver form, you are free to attend all seven weekly classes for both sessions. If you submitted a waiver prior to April 4, 2016, please submit a new waiver here. If participants do not fill out an online waiver, they may be asked to leave the fitness classes.
When you attend your first Columbus Commons fitness class, please be sure to check-in at the table, located at the center of the brick, Town street walkway between the North and South lawn, to ensure that all who participate have completed a waiver (Monday evening Bootcamp check-in will take place in the South Lawn). 
Once you check in, you will be given a wristband indicating that you have completed a waiver, so you won't need to check in each time as long as you are wearing the wristband at each class. Blank waivers will also be available to complete on site.

BOOTCAMP, MONDAYS, 5:30pm-6:30pm
Session 1: May 2 through June 6 (no class May 30)
Session 2: August 1 through September 26 (no class on September 5)

Bootcamp is a constantly varied mix of functional movements using your body weight and other equipment. Each class starts out with a group warm-up, followed by a fast-paced workout, and concludes with a cool-down. You will work hard, have fun and get results.

COMMONS CARDIO, TUESDAYS, 5:30 pm-6:30 pm 
Session 1: May 3 through June 7
Session 2: August 2 through September 20

Want to get a fun, upbeat full body workout in? This class concentrates on longer cardiovascular components interspaced with shorter intervals for body-weight challenges.

YOGA, TUESDAYS, 6:30 pm-7:30 pm 
Session 1: May 3 through June 7
Session 2: August 2 through September 27

Yoga is a Vinyasa Flow Yoga series with a mix of movement and breathing. Basic yoga poses and breathing techniques are blended together to create an invigorating workout that will leave you balanced and ready for a busy weekend. We suggest bringing your own mat, or you can enjoy the grass beneath your feet. 
Rotating instructors include: Erin Lombardo, Julie Wilkes, Catherine Derrow, Lisa Paquette

KICKBOXING, WEDNESDAYS, 5:30pm-6:30pm 
Session 1: May 4 through June 8
Session 2: August 3 through September 28 (no class on September 14)

Kickboxing is a constantly varied mix of martial arts skills (kicking & punching) and functional movements using your body weight. Each class starts out with a group warm-up, followed by a fast-paced workout and concludes with a cool-down. You will work hard, learn usable skills, have fun and get results.

HIP HOP, WEDNESDAYS, 6:30pm-7:30pm 
Session 1: May 4 through June 8
Session 2: August 3 through September 28 (no class on September 14)

This introductory-level Hip Hop class provides a structured method of learning various Hip Hop dance movements in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment, and offers a new set of combinations and routines every time.

Session 2: August 6 through October 1 (no class August 27)

ZUMBA, SATURDAYS, 10:00am-11:00am
Session 1: May 7 through June 11
Session 2: August 6 through October 1 (no class August 27)

Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Come dance your way to fitness every Saturday morning.
