The Capital Crossroads SID Special Improvement District is bringing the Capitol Square Kickball League and Downtown LIVE concert series to the Columbus Commons on Thursday Nights for Play at the Park. They will also be managing the Columbus Commons Market as part of the Lunch on the Lawn event on Wednesdays.
The Columbus Metropolitan Library is providing complimentary Wi-Fi for patrons of the Columbus Commons Reading Room and scheduling weekly bookmobile visits every Friday. They will also bring special programming to the park throughout the summer in conjunction with their summer reading club.
Fit Club is pumping up the Columbus Commons programming calendar with free recreation classes open to the public, including Bootcamp on Mondays, Kickboxing on Wednesdays, and Yoga Classes on Saturdays.
Franklin Park Conservatory will design and install 12 world class gardens in Columbus Commons, with seasonal displays and year-round interest. They will also maintain the gardens with the help of a volunteer program open to the public.
Friends of the Columbus Metropolitan Library is providing the Columbus Commons Reading Room with book carts filled with hundreds of children’s and adult browsing materials for use by all park patrons.
The Harmony Project is generously sponsoring the 2011 Columbus Commons Farmers’ Market, bringing local farmers and merchants to the Columbus Commons as part of the Lunch on the Lawn event every Wednesday.
The Second and Seven Foundation is providing support for the Outdoor Reading Room, including organizing Celebrity Story Time with OSU athletes and coaches every Friday as part of the Commons for Kids Event, including children’s book give-a-ways for all attendees.
